While forex, or foreign exchange, trading, isn’t in itself a scam, plenty of people see it as little more than a get-rich-quick scheme and sell it that way to others in an attempt to bring them on board, kind of like MLM recruitment.

Ultimately, the chances of actually getting rich from forex trading are incredibly slim, but that doesn’t stop people, including the folks in this video, from trying.

A meme TikTok account posted a “where are they now” video about a group of forex traders, and the answers are not altogether that surprising. According to the video, one guy left the group and became a manager at a movie theater; the only woman in the group left and became a single mom with an Only Fans account; another guy left the group after trying to “rizz up a minor” (a frankly insane euphemism) and getting caught; and the fourth guy left the group and got into real estate.

The fourth guy actually commented and wrote, “I heard the last guy is doing good in real estate and still trades,” which is a shame. I mean, real estate? As one commenter noted, “Real estate is the new forex.” Real estate is hardly new, but I appreciate the sentiment.

In a second video, the former forex traders featured all left the group, with one “becoming a Power Ranger,” one getting exposed for cussing out a mentee, one came out as transgender and the only woman in the group (yep, again) started dating a man with two baby mamas. At least none of them went into real estate.

The whole account is dedicated to dunking on forex traders, so there are plenty more videos where these came from. One criticized forex for having people in “that cult mindset,” sharing a video from a meeting of forex traders where they all gathered in a room and screamed together. Hopefully, it was cathartic for them, but it’s not clear how screaming will help them make money.

But if there is a way to monetize screaming — even as part of a foreign exchange — please let me know ASAP.
